At the heart of Double Five is Professor Rafael "Formiga" Barbosa — one of the most decorated and respected figures in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Professor Formiga began training at age 11 and has spent his life both competing and teaching at the highest level. A 13x IBJJF World Champion and the #1 ranked competitor in the IBJJF Masters division, his credentials speak for themselves. But ask anyone who has trained under him and they'll tell you the same thing: what sets Professor Formiga apart isn't just what he's won — it's how he teaches, and who he is on the mat.
